Parents: Your Preschooler Needs Self-Esteem, Coordination, Positive Social Interaction, and Confidence to Carry Them Through Life.
That’s a LOT To Do!
I know what parents like you are facing these days. I’ve met thousands of parents just like you and I have to tell you, it’s NOT easy!
Most parents I meet are working hard to foster their child’s mental and physical growth as well as they can, but sometimes it can be overwhelming to do this alone. When new students come into our school we often see:
It’s usually not because of anything in particular, they just haven’t had a chance to think about who they really are and WANT to be.
Little understanding of their own physical movement and how the world around them can knock them down if they don’t pay attention to it.
Difficulty Engaging with Peers
Their world is so small that they haven’t had the opportunity to explore positive interactions with kids their age.
Lack of Confidence
Kids try and fail and that’s OK, but without guidance, they lose the ability to get up, dust themselves off and try again.
But There’s Hope!
We’ve specifically designed our Lil Dragon program below to help your child build the life skills they need to work through their challenges and become the confident, capable elementary schoolers that we all know they can be.
Our 30-minute class is packed with lots of exercise to help our youngest students learn the basics of taekwondo while having fun at the same time. This program is gearing toward developing young students to have better focus and attention, learn to follow instructions effectively, and developing stronger physical body through our basic taekwondo instructions.
This program will help students to be more prepared and excel at a faster rate when they get to the Taekwondo Zone (ages 6-12) program. Attention span at this age is very short so there will be no belt examination, no poomsae to remember, and class size will be less than 15 students. This will help to take away the anxiety and frustration from the little ones. Belt advancement is no charge and will be awarded once every two months – starting at white belt with yellow stripe to white belt with black stripe.
After the student has earned his or her white belt with black stripe he or she will be ready for the TKD Zone program.
Students at the ages of 3 and 5 who can get a good grasp of tkd instructions and can follow commands easily, we would recommend for them to join the TKD Zone so they and learn and excel at a faster rate.
Our Little Dragon Program is a detailed curriculum that focuses on improving preschool-aged children’s basic motor skills and listening skills. These skills will help them enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook. They will become better students at school, better listeners at home, and more ambitious towards the future.
We believe the time between the ages of 3 and 5 are the most important years of a child’s development. Our program will enhance positive development in a fun and motivating way.
The Little Dragon Program will also prepare your child for our Children’s Martial Arts Program. In the Little Dragon classes, your child will be exposed to positive social interaction. They will learn how to work with others and follow directions from their instructors. Our Little Dragon Instructors are good role models who are trained specifically to work with preschool-aged children.
The Little Dragon curriculum consists of developing 8 major skills that are necessary for participation in any sport or activity. The curriculum contains 8 Little Dragon Personal Development skills that are used to reinforce family values. Upon completion of our Little Dragon Program, your child will become focused and motivated to achieve any goal they set in life.
The 8 Little Dragon skill requirements are composed of physical and mental benefits. The following are the skills with the benefits from participating in the Little Dragon class:
Focus – This skill will help your child’s aim, listening skills, and reaction skills. They will excel faster in any physical activities. Your child will also become a listener and more focused student in school.
Teamwork – Teamwork is necessary for any young child to develop. The more confident your child is willing to work with others, the more they will get accomplished. Your child will develop character, which will help him/her make new friends and become a better leader in life.
Control – Having control means making good decisions. Whether your child is handling a pet or handling a problem, your child will learn to make the right decisions with good control. Control builds confidence in children.
Balance – This skill is crucial to develop at an early age. Your child is beginning to participate in many physical activities that are challenging, like riding a two-wheel bicycle. Your child will develop good balance and a better posture.
Memory – Developing a good memory is exercise for your child’s brain. The sooner your child exercises, the bigger and smarter they will be. Our drills are constantly helping your child think and make smart decisions.
Discipline – Our instructors use the Little Dragon drills to help create the vision that discipline is fun and rewarding. Your child will take pride in doing the right thing. They will also follow directions better.
Fitness – It is important for children to understand the importance of being healthy and physically fit. If they do not burn off excess energy exercising, what else will they do to burn off all of that energy?
Coordination – Your child will learn their left from their right. They will become better physical participants in sports and activities. The better coordination they have, the less injuries they will have.
In our Little Dragon classes, we make learning fun and educational. Our goal is to help your preschooler be the best they can be at everything they put their minds to. Our motto is “Little Dragon today, leaders tomorrow.”
